Winter photography specials

2015 sees me head into my first year as a wedding photographer. The first six months is almost booked to capacity with only dates left for early January and late January and up till mid February. I have a lovely balance between both bridal jobs.
For the cooler months of the year when all things bridal slow down, June, July and August 2015 I'm offering a special discount on my wedding photography. If you'd like to see more of my work and more details head over to Bird On The Wall Photography

Ethereal Bridal Hair with step by step

This weekend I styled Heathers long blond hair into this princess do inspired by a Lauren Conrad image. We added two fishtail braids that crossed over in the front and a woven crystal chain was added to complete the look. Maids had soft textured do's to complement the brides.

To recreate the look
Wash and blow wave hair smooth with volume
Each section before the next step was sprayed with White Sands liquid texture in firm.
Set on a large conical tong, large 1 inch sections were wrapped back away from the face. Let it all cool before the next step.
Teasing all around the crown area and smoothed down  with fingers and pinned into the half up, doing a little twist before pinning.
The braids were hair extensions, Lifting the section of hair of the half up clip in a weft of hair with the half up covering the clips. Grabbing some of the brides natural hair as well I then fishtail braided each of the pieces. Crossing them over at the front and pinning the tails under the half up.
Finished by getting the front section to sit right and pinned lightly in the back.
Finished by finger smoothing the back and a spray of liquid texture for hold.

Modern Elegant Bridesmaids Hair and Makeup

This weekend gone saw me down in Perth making over Caitlin's bridesmaids.
Providing hair and makeup for her lovely mum and 3 sisters
Here is one of the looks.
Soft undone upstyle to the side with sweeping fringe.
Makeup on the eyes was in hues of pink and aubergine in the outer V and into the crease, blending the crease with a warm soft brown. 3/4 lashes where applied. I lined the top lash line and blended out softly, brown pencil was applied to the waterline. Blush and bronzer on the cheek bones and a touch of highlighter on the top of the cheek bone. A soft coral pink on the lips.

Bridal hair and makeup

Last weekends bridal party. I've been using elementwo airbrush foundation now for about 1.5 years I'm still amazed with how natural and flawless it looks. These images aren't retouched.

Next year will be a big change for me. Along side Birdnest Bridal I'm also operating Bird On The Wall Photography. I have some amazing couples that have already booked me and entrusting me to capture their day. I'm so excited to see the New Year in.

Bronzy bridal makeup

(Jessica Alba lookalike don't you think?) Amanda wanted a JLo inspired bronzy look. Her eye colour I used one of my Dior pallets creating an eye brightening natural look. Using a peachy gold to  highlighting her top cheekbones, top lip, inner corners of the eye and a touch on the brow bone. Contoured with bronzer on the cheekbone and all the places the sun would hit. We opted for a full set of natural looking lashes (DW from red cherry) I lined her lips in a natural pink then Amanda had her own soft pink lip gloss.
I used a mix of cream foundation underneath the elementwo airbrush foundation as her skin was a little bumpy and marked. Really buffing it in so it melted into the skin, the fine layer of airbrush over the top just gives the most radiant glow. I only used powder under her eyes and nose. Last of all was a soft sweep of blush in Deep Throat by NARS.
Amanda's hair we used an extension pony so we had a bit more to play with, creating a more glamorise shape.
